Learning to give a real massage, in one weekend
The aim of the course is to give students the knowledge and application techniques of general chiromassage, in an eminently practical way. It serves as a basis for later professional training, and also as one more tool within a culture of health and quality of life.
It is the school’s most popular course and where almost everyone starts. Over the weekend you both give and receive massage: you have to feel the manoeuvres to be able to perform them, which is why groups are small.
No prior knowledge is needed. You leave able to give a proper back, arm and leg massage, with basics of foot reflexology, lymphatic drainage and craniofacial massage.

In class
Two or three per table, with the teacher right there
You work in small groups, taking turns on the table: first you give the manoeuvre, then you receive it. The teacher goes round each station adjusting your hands, pressure and posture until it comes naturally.

- One-to-one correction of hands, pressure and posture all weekend.
- A manual for home with the manoeuvres, effects and contraindications to review.

Syllabus
What you cover, hour by hour
The level I programme: from the fundamentals of massage to a full session, with basics of foot reflexology and lymphatic drainage. Everything is practised on the massage table during the course itself.
1. Introduction and preparation
Effects of massage, indications and contraindications, and preparing the room: massage table, temperature, lighting and oils.
Applied theory
2. Back and arms
The basis of any chiromassage session and where most tension builds up. This is where most hours on the table are spent.

3. Legs
Relieving manoeuvres on the legs, working through the full sequence of a massage.

4. Foot reflexology
A first approach to the reflex zones of the foot and how to include them in the massage.

5. Lymphatic drainage
The basic lymphatic drainage manoeuvres and when it makes sense to use them.

Questions about the course
Do I need prior experience to take the course?
No. The introductory course is designed precisely for people starting from scratch. Everything is explained, from the effects of massage and the contraindications to the manoeuvres, and it is all practised on the table during the course itself.
What do I need to bring?
Just comfortable clothes and short nails. We provide the rest of the materials —table, towels and oils— and at the end you receive a manual and a certificate of attendance.
How long is it and how much does it cost?
Twelve hours over one weekend: Saturday from 10:00 to 14:00 and from 15:00 to 19:00, and Sunday from 10:00 to 14:00. The total price of the course is €300, materials and manual included.
Where is it taught?
At our Barrio del Pilar centre, Avenida de Betanzos 64, Madrid. It is Templo del Masaje’s original centre and the largest of the four.
Will I be able to work as a massage therapist afterwards?
No, and it is worth being clear about it: it is a twelve-hour introductory course. It is for learning to give a good massage at home and for having the judgement and grounding to continue training towards a professional career later if you want to.
When are the next course dates?
The next ones are 24 and 25 October and 5 and 6 December 2026, with 8 places each; places are booked in our online shop. If none of them suits you, leave your details in the form on this page or call 913 733 193.
What if I cannot attend?
If the course does not go ahead for reasons on our side, we refund the full amount. If you cancel at least 10 days in advance, we refund 50%; after that there is no refund. The place is tied to the date booked and cannot be changed.
